SPRING TERM’S ‘PELLEGRINO’ IS HERE IF YOU NEED A BREAK
In an era of fast-paced digital media and hyper-awareness (or lack thereof), Nathan Davis, the artist behind Spring Term, aims to create a sonic refuge for individuals to feel grounded in. Stemming from Davis’ appreciation for the changing of seasons and the serenity that spring brings with its presence, the project Spring Term was born with its debut EP “Kiddo” in 2022. After being dormant since the release of the 6 track EP, Spring Term is defrosting back into the music scene with a string of upcoming releases, with newest single “Pellegrino” leading the way.
Born and raised in central Indiana, carving his path in the midwestern indie community, Spring Term earnestly writes, produces, and does all of the instrumentation on his tracks. Charismatically rooted in self-awareness, the single is composed of deliciously organic instrumentals and honest lyrics.
“There's something about elegance [of Pellegrino], it feels fancy, but you can afford it as a high schooler. You can buy a bottle of Pellegrino, and it makes you feel a lot older. It’s just like when you're in the honeymoon phase of a relationship and you can consciously know that this person isn't perfect, and if we stay together our lives aren't going to be perfect but it feels like it could be,” described Davis.
During the lull between releases, being cognizant of the present moment became important to Davis. Spring Term’s discography invites listeners to take a moment to pause and urges them to stay awhile with moreish melodies. Vivid imagery and homespun lyrics lace all of Spring Term’s tracks, and “Pellegrino” specifically, sounds like enjoying a late summer night breeze with a friend, or someone more.
Currently abroad in Colombia, Davis yearns for when he can perform Spring Term’s new music and bring the song’s personable connection to life. While you wait for Spring Term’s return, crack open a sparkling water and stream “Pellegrino.”
