CROWE COLIDES FRIENDS, FAMILY AND FUN WITH “UNFINISHED: THE ALBUM RELEASE SHOW”
Via Crowe’s debut album was an exploration of all of the people and places that have made up the last eighteen years of her life. Just two months after its release, she’s bringing all of those things together under one roof for one night only with “UNFINISHED: The Album Release Show.”
Through wistful odes to her hometown, to sad girl bops about past flames, Crowe dedicates UNFINISHED to the girl she was, and the person she’s become.
“I kept on saying ‘I’m so upset that my first project is about to be done.’ I was convincing myself I would never be able to record again,” Crowe said. “I had to take a step back and say, ‘Your childhood is ending, but it’s the start of something new.’”
Now, on Dec. 27, just a week from today, she gets to celebrate the culmination of the years of hard work behind the album with her first headline show at Asbury Lanes. Backing her raw vocals and lyrics is a six piece band comprised of Myles Fort on the drums, John Novello playing bass, Evin Cox on piano as well as AJ Kasper and Brendan Gillespe on lead guitar and rhythm guitar respectively.
They’re not the only band on the docket, in fact, Crowe has decided to share the stage with three other New Jersey-based bands: Lightheaded, Exit 109 and Girl Bossanova. Off stage, booths from Danny Colon’s Electrix Vintage and Disaster Magazine (hey, that’s us!) will sell apparel, and Asbury Park Music Organization will be in attendance to spread their message statement to all of the young creatives from across New Jersey.
UNFINISHED embraces loose ends, learning more as you grow, not always knowing the right answer — the show is exists to honor the album, but it is far from the end of its life.
“The next project? I’m already working on it,” Crowe teased. “It has the same undertones, but it’s so jazz-oriented.”
Admission begins at 6pm, and tickets will be available at the door.
