STILL WOOZY IS STILL OOZING WOOZ IN “LOVESEAT”
New father Sven Gamsky, better known as Still Woozy, has lots of love to commemorate on his new album, ‘Loveseat’.
Still Woozy’s signature bedroom pop, lava lamp-lo-fi sound permeates throughout all 13 tracks of the artist’s sophomore album. The record remains sonically true to former Still Woozy releases, but explores passion and affection in a way new to the discography.
“I was trying to make music that felt authentic to me at the time.Just being okay with being vulnerable. Sometimes you need to lean into your vulnerability,” Gamsky said.
After releasing his debut single “Vacation”, Still Woozy has been steadily releasing numerous singles and an album in 2021. Gamsky finds that the beauty of records is finding a home for what would otherwise be singles; the home that is “Loveseat” is one that invites listeners to stay awhile. The album plays like an open floor space, with each song having its own decor of stuck-in-your-head lyrics and transportive melodies.
“The first half is more similar to where I’ve been, and listening to it, you feel like you’re in this familiar place and it can go off into new territory,” described Gamsky.
Still Woozy kicked off a 50 stop tour earlier this month, with support from Gus Dapperton, MICHELLE, Pawpaw Rod and Spill Tab. In the future, Still Woozy plans on going back to his roots, preparing to release more singles for the time being. Kick back, roll the windows down and stream “Loveseat” this summer.
